Taylor Carr - Intro Post

Hi everyone. My name is Taylor Carr. I am an ESL MAT major and got my undergrad degree in Anthropology from Auburn University. I moved to Raleigh after meeting my girlfriend, who is from Raleigh, during the Disney College Program internship in Orlando. We plan to move back there after graduating, where I will teach ESL and English.

I am a big nerd and I love videos games, and more recently, comic books. I look forward to this class partially because comics and children's books are very similar to each other. Marvel and DC both publish all-ages comics that are meant for younger and older readers alike.

The Harry Potter books were very important to me growing up. I remember aging with the books and movies, seeing how things changed and matured as we got older. I recently reread the entire series before starting grad school, in addition to the new playbook that came out. It was and still is a magical story of growing up, being courageous and caring for all types of people (even Slytherins).
